SAFETY FIRST

Folks, a reminder that in the rush of dropping your children off at school, please take the time out to abide by school and driver safety rules.  Do not stop in the middle of the road to drop off your child.  Do not cross where there is no crosswalk.  Do drive slowly around school grounds.  Remember that your children learn by example.  Let’s be a good one!   

VARIETY SHOW AUDITIONS
WHEN:  Wednesday, February 8 & Friday, February 10
WHERE:  Drama Room (Rm 16)

A reminder that Variety Show auditions will take this Wednesday and Friday.  You may audition only if you have signed up for an audtion time in the front office.  If you have signed up but have forgotten your timeslot, please check the sign up sheet in the front office.

The show is scheduled for Friday, April 20th and Saturday, April 21st.  Dress Rehearsal will take place on Wednesday, April 18th.  To be eligible for the show, you MUST be available for both performances and the entire dress rehearsal.

CHARTER GOVERNANCE MEETING

WALK A THON
WHEN:  Friday, February 10
WHERE:  Riverside Drive Charter School

One of our biggest fundraisers of the year is coming up THIS FRIDAY!!!   This year will be even better than last.  Along with the raffle for the ‘Limo and Lunch with Principal Kessler’, there will be prizes for top earners!  All pledge forms with money are due Friday, March 2nd.  You can pledge a flat fee or per lap (depending on the child, most will likely walk approximately 15-20 laps).  All checks can be made out to “Parents for Riverside Drive”.  Winners will be announced on Friday, March 9th.

Remember:

• $20 pledges = water bottle
• 100% Class participation = 15 minutes additional recess time
• Every $50 = 1 entry into the raffle for the ‘Limo and Lunch with Principal Kessler’

• #2 Top earner = iPod Touch

WALK-A-THON DONATIONS

Each child will receive one snack and one bottle of water after his/her walk.  We need your help.  If you can donate any of the following, it would be greatly appreciated.

• Bottled Water
• Snacks – Individually prepackaged healthy snacks such as fish crackers, pretzels, graham crackers, granola bars, etc.  No chips and no fruits please.

All donations can be dropped off at the Parent Center on Wednesday, February 8th, after drop off and pick up.

WALK-A-THON VOLUNTEERS

Calling all parents!  Don’t miss out on the opportunity to cheer on your child(ren) at the walk-a-thon.  Volunteer to help during your child’s participation time.  The walk-a-thon will take place on Friday 2/10 during school hours.  Please note that we are unable to have all the parents on campus, so please contact Jayme (jayme.shaw@verizon.net) or Emily (ejcooke@sbcglobal.net) to secure your time slot now!  No parents will be allowed on campus unless they have been assigned a responsibility.

• 7a – 8a                   Set Up
• 8a -10a                  Kinder/ 1st/ 2nd Grades walking
• 10:30a -12p          4th/ 5th Grades walking
• 1p – 2:30p             3rd Grade

PFRD MEETING

Folks, now more than ever we need your participation in your parent group.  Without you, we cannot move forward.  Great things are happening at our wonderful little school.  It is a great time to be a Riverside family.  But nothing can move forward without the support and participation of our parents.  So PLEASE take the 45 minutes hear how you can help.  PLEASE attend a meeting.
